Jack and the beans....

When Jack turned six months old, we started him on (semi) solid foods. We started out with rice cereal and then moved to fruits and vegetables. It took him a while to get used to having something other than milk or his binky in his mouth. He started out really liking the vegetables (as long as they were orange) and wasn't so sure about the fruits (except for prunes) but now it is the other way around and he loves the fruits and tolerates some of the vegetables. We have found that his very favorite food over all is prunes and his least favorite is green beans. I have tried each of the foods because I don't think I should feed him something that I wouldn't eat myself and I can't blame him for not liking the beans because they are nasty!

Easter

It took me a while to post our Easter pictures because I had to get some of the pictures off of my old phone so these are a little late. Jack's first Easter was not a very happy one. Hopefully next year will be more enjoyable. At about 7:00 pm on the night before Easter, we were out running a few errands and Jack started to cough a little funny. Jack's cough sounded a little bit like croup but he had been totally fine all day so when we got home we put him to bed. He woke up around 9:00 pm and the cough sounded a little worse but I rocked him back to sleep and put him to bed. At around 11:30 pm he woke up really struggling to breathe. He was looking at us with a panicked look and he really sounded like he was not getting enough air. Bagley said we should take him to the ER and since my doctor husband was nervous, that made me really nervous. We got to the ER and he did have croup. It was bad enough that we had to stay in the ER for several hours while they gave Jack some steroids and a couple of breathing treatments and then monitored him for about 3 hours. Jack was such a champ. Even though he sounded and probably felt awful, he kept smiling at the all of the ER personnel. Everyone loved him. The only part he really struggled with was having to do the breathing treatments. We arrived home about 4:30 am and spent Easter Sunday at home. When Jack was feeling better, I took some photos of him with his Easter basket.

Potato Country

Jack and I were able to go to Idaho for a week after the wedding. We had such a good time. We were able to see all of the new babies in my family and it made me realize how fast Jack is growing up.

We took Jack swimming for the first time while we were in Utah. Cottonwood Heights pool has this really cute splash pool that goes up to an adults knees. I knew Jack would love it because he has always enjoyed bathing. He had fun splashing and going down the slide with Dada. I wish we had more pictures of the kids swimming because they all had such a great time.

Can't wait to swim!

We were able to attend Kate's wedding in April. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a lot of fun spending time with friends and family.

I'm 4 months old!

I know these pictures are a little late since Jack is 7 months old now, but I wanted to post them anyway. I got these pictures taken and I was so happy with the results. Jack is usually the happiest and most smiley baby but when we went to get these pictures taken he was pretty much stone faced. I don't know if it was just the new environment or people but I was trying my hardest to get him to smile but he wouldn't give in! His normal smile is much bigger but the pictures still turned out pretty cute.
